Overview

For my Visual Design I class, we were tasked to design a book cover for the book "Pedagogy Opened: Innovative Theory and Practice." It was a competition between our two class sections, and the winner would have their design put on the book cover. Even though there would be only one winner, everyone who participated would have their design featured inside the book.

Rough Drafts

Before digitally designing my book cover, I sketched out 6 possible designs. Because the book is about pedagogy (education, or science of teaching) I immediately thought about school and students, and wanted to do a more childish design. However, the idea was quickly scrapped after consulting with my professor and multiple students, and I went for a more simple design. I ended up with two designs, and between them I had to pick one to send in.

Eventually, the design below was chosen by me to turn in, and although I didn't end up winning, this was a great experience to challenge my creativity!
